Hello there. I am non fiction writer and blogger. My writing is often influenced by my 30 year career as a professional chef, so you will see that I write a great deal about food. I am very connected to my birthplace in the Highlands of Scotland, my childhood home in the Holland Marsh in central Ontario, Canada, as well as Barrie, my current city where I have lived for 32 years. I have unique perspectives from being the mother of 5 children including twins.

 

What do I like to write about? I have many passions and interests including organic and local foods, community gardens, farms, restaurants, nature, healthy living, cooking, social justice and poverty, local heroes, genealogy, local history and lots more. My style is casual and informative, personal experience or interviews, peppered with bits of humour.
